Dusk

Photobucket

Sorry I've been remiss in my blogging lately. I am moving houses! I can't wait to show you photos of my new neighborhood when I finally move in. In the meantime, here's a photo of the dark, menacing Manila sky.

Under the Cebu sky

Photobucket

So that was my brief, but immensely enjoyable trip to Cebu. I hope you get to visit that place and see for yourselves what a lovely island it is. Have a good Friday!

In the air

Photobucket

It was only around 5:30 pm when I took this shot of the Makati area. I guess it really must be Christmas season around here. The days are shorter and the nights are longer.

Overcast afternoon

Photobucket

While my friend and I were walking around here, in Eastwood, a shopping center/residential area/ business district all rolled into one, we thought how nice it would be to just sit or walk around, if it weren't so hot. But since it was so hot then, more people just choose to be inside the malls or in the buildings, to bask in the air conditioning.

To the sky

Photobucket

I actually really like this shot if not for that lamp post! Ugh! Just pretend it's not there. Despite that, I thought I'd post it anyway since I really like the monument ( (I love the outstretched arms!) This the People Power monument, commemorating the 1986 EDSA revolution when the Filipinos put an end to the Marcos dictatorship through peaceful mass action. It truly was a defining moment in our country's history - everyone, young, old, rich or poor, everyone gathered together in a collective effort to fight for freedom and restore democracy. I'll definitely have to be back and take a better photograph. Have a good Friday folks!

Manila sky

Here's the clock tower of the Manila City Hall. Every 15 minutes and every hour it chimes thrice and plays a melody. Two people check the clock to make sure it is in good working condition all the time. "If you can't run the clocks, how can you run a city effectively?" the city hall administrator said. Good point, I must say. Now as to what kind of melody and if anybody actually hears it, I couldn't be sure.

Criss cross

The heat is so intense this summer but at least we get beautiful, clear, blue skies.

Into the sunset

If I had one of these, I could definitely go sailing into the sunset. Photo taken along Manila Bay. Have a good Friday folks!

Here's a view of the Manila Bay, only a few moments before the sun finally bid goodbye for the day. Have a good Friday folks!

Jollibee is one of the most well-loved fast food chains in the Philippines. It's probably the only Filipino fast-food chain that can edge out McDonald's in popularity. His smile is the solitary bright spot in this otherwise dark sky.
